The Green Witch has become an iconic figure across pop culture. Cunning and powerful, they are both feared and admired.
There are many ways to transform yourself into an emerald avatar of the arcane and here is a set of key makeup products you can use!
Basic Green Witch Makeup
To start we’ll recommend Creme Colors, set with our Neutral Set Powder. The creme formula is easy to blend on the face and is very pigmented so a little goes a long way!
CL-3 Green is your base color to apply. Use a clean instrument, like a stainless steel spatula, to scoop out creme from its container. You can then spread the base around your face with a makeup sponge, brush, or your fingers. Pat the creme down with a sponge to even out the texture.
CL-2 Forest Green and CL-25 Steel Grey both can serve as contour colors to create shadow and definition on the face. Forest Green should be the primary shadow color and Steel Grey can deepen them. Your main contour should be in the cheek hollows of your face. You can pucker up and suck in your cheeks to easily find where contour placement should be.
Additional contours can be applied along the sides of your jawline and the top of your forehead.
CL-5 Yellow may look out of place at first but it serves as a natural highlight color that blends well with green. Apply Yellow or highlight of choice just above your shadows.
Use a soft wider brush to blend highlight and shadow colors to a more natural look.
You will need to set the Creme Colors with powder to ensure they do not transfer or shift. Neutral Set Powder is translucent so it does not change any color and it makes your makeup very durable. A Powder Puff is great for applying loose powder to the face and body. Make sure you are really pressing and patting the puff into the skin to ensure proper coverage.
The makeup should appear like there is a white cast when you’ve used enough powder. This will go away. A fluffy brush is useful to wipe away excess powder.
If you want your witch to have a different verdant tone than our classic green, Ben Nye makes a variety of shades which you can see together here.
CL-2 Forest Green will still be the best Shadow for most of the colors because of its darker and cooler tone.
A Black Makeup Pencil like our EP-9 Eyebrow Pencil or MC-1 Black MagiColor Pencil can be a great way to add details to the skin. With this sharpened pencil, create wrinkles by drawing lines around eyes, chin, neck, and across cheeks. Pinch your face in to find your natural wrinkle lines.
Apply yellow or white on wrinkle details to give them more dimension.
Glam Witch
If you want your witch to sparkle and shine, you can swap your base or setting powder with our Lumière Creme or Powder.
Chartreuse and Jade come in Creme, Pressed Powder, and Loose Powder formulas. These can be mixed and matched together or with other cremes and powders like the Creme Colors above.
You can see how the different Lumière Powders affect the tone of the base Lumière Cremes. The unadjusted colors are in the middle. Lumière Cremes can also be set with a translucent powder and they will still retain their shimmer!
The final touches can include applying eyelashes, mascara, styled hair, a wig, a hat, and a costume!
